Is it just me who is completely obsessed with everything maple syrup like? I seriously can't get enough of this sweet sweet nectar! So far today, I've smothered my porridge with it and I've made this maple glazed gammon (complete with homemade mac & cheese...oh yes!) for dinner. I'll have to exercise for another ten hours tomorrow to keep up with this guilty pleasure!

I think I mentioned that we'd moved to the North East in a previous post. Well, we're just outside Middlesbrough. We've lived here for two whole months now and we had never ventured into the town centre. Now, before we moved from Essex, I read lots of reviews of Middlesbrough and let me tell you, most of them weren't pretty (apparently I'm a smoggy now?). So yesterday instead of bumming about in our pj's, we drove into the town centre. To be entirely honest, at first, it looks a bit sketch. But once you have a mooch about, there's much more to it than even I expected! It's a university town you know (I didn't know)? So lots of decent eating places, although we were there too early to partake. There are also lots of decent shops and even a Starbucks (how I've missed you!!)!
How could I forget our main reason for our trip...birthday present shopping for Oscar! I'll post a photo below, needless to say, he was pretty impressed with the shops! So Middlesbrough, I will definitely be back to see your face soon! PS Am I the only one who's looking outside at some torrential rain today? The bank holiday weekend is most definitely over :( It's been a busy old bank holiday weekend for the fiancé and I. Our friends from Edinburgh came down to visit and boy were we lucky with the weather. Being a Scottish, it inevitably pours with rain on a bank holiday weekend, but apparently, in the North East, you get sunshine! We had a BBQ, strolled along the river in York and went to an awesome Italian restaurant in Yarm village (the quaintest little village ever!). Now, instead of me rambling on about how good a weekend it was, I will show you in photos! Don't panic, this is not a beauty blog! Recently, I really got into some awesome blogs, which just happen to be mainly beauty related. Much to Oscar's dismay, I may add, as my make-up spending has almost doubled since I started reading them! These blogs actually gave me the idea to start my own blog, so I just thought I'd share a few favourites for you to peruse at your leisure.
ViviannaDoesMakeup is by far my favourite. She's started uploading weekly vlogs, which I love! LilyPebbles is quite similar to Anna's blog, but is also a great read and lastly, EssieButton. I love Essie! She's Canadian and really quirky. Her mannerisms so remind me of my Canadian buddy Dilpreet (I'm not so sure she's convinced though), which makes me love her even more! Even though these blogs are mainly dedicated to beauty, they also write about cooking, lifestyle, fashion etc. So, bookmark these bad boys and be prepared to be addicted! As usual, I'm a little late to the party. The blogging party that is. Well...that's not entirely true. I have dabbled in blogging in the past, but only half heartedly and then ditched it after only one post. What's different this time, I hear you ask? For one thing, my fiancé and I have recently relocated to the North East of lovely England and I have nothing else to do whilst I try to find the dream job (I have no idea what my dream job might be...) and attempt to keep the new house in an orderly state. So, here I am.
Another reason for starting this blog is to try to distract me from the addictive world of social media. I'm one of those annoying people, who, when bored, stalk Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...you get my drift. So I'm thinking that by posting all my ramblings and schnizz on here, I'll stop driving my friends crazy with frenzied Facebook posts. Here's hoping! I can't promise that this blog will be full of whitty and interesting things all the time (well hopefully at least once or twice), but I hope I manage to attract one or two readers who find my posts somewhat entertaining. |
