Originally this post was going to be called "Five Favourite Lip Products", but you know me, can't make a decision to save my life. So I managed to narrow it down to nine. A little excessive? Ah well, more options are better, right? Thought so!
You can probably sense a theme going on with the products I've chosen...a heck of a lot of reds and pinks. I honestly didn't realise I had to many red lipsticks, the worst (best) part is, that this is not all of them! Whoops! Hey ho, let's dive in, shall we? I think we'll go in order of the hand swatches, left to right...
Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday (715) :: This was the first bright red lipstick I ever bought. I'm not a huge Max Factor fan, I just really like the colour and the packaging. This lipstick is super creamy and moisturising, so won't dry your lips out. It's pretty pigmented, but I would say it doesn't have much staying power. I reckon it only stays on for about three hours before you need to re-apply.
Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary :: I love the packaging of the Smashbox lipsticks, nice and sleek. I got this as a gift and I love it. It's a deeper red than the others and I tend to wear it on a night out. Again, it's nice and creamy but much more matte than the Max Factor Colour Elixirs. So far it's managed to stay on for most of the evening, so a winner in my book.
Benefit Hydra-Smooth Lip Colour in Dare Me :: This is my favourite lipstick at the moment. It's kinda a bright fuchsia, but has red undertones. It's really pigmented and creamy. The only issue I have is that you have to re-apply quite often. But I absolutely love the packaging. It comes in a green art deco box, also!
Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm in The Redder, The Better (500) :: I love these balm sticks. They are so much easier to apply than lipsticks, especially with the brighter colours. Despite the fact that it's a balm, you get tons of colour and because it is a balm, it's seriously moisturising and lasts much longer than I expected. I'm struggling to find any negatives for this. It's like a big lush giant crayon!
Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Balm in Mega Melon :: Finally we get away from the bold reds and pinks! This is a nice every day balm. It's moisturising and not too pigmented, so it gives a nice natural look. It doesn't really stay on too long, but I don't expect balms to, so no biggie.
Maybelline Color Sensational Cream Gloss in Cashmere Rose :: This is a nice gloop-free gloss with a pinky peachy hue and a little shimmer. Another great every day natural look. It also tastes pretty lush too!
Maybelline Baby Lips Balm in Pink Punch :: I've also got the "Cherry Me" version of this too, but for the life of me, I can't find it. This is a nice lip balm with a little pigment, so you get a nice pink sheen. They're not as moisturising as some of the other balms though. But I do like the nice bright packaging.
Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast :: This lip balm tastes AMAZING! It's really zesty and summery. It has lots of vitamins, coconut oil and antioxidants in it, so it's also kind on your lips. Honestly, I could just eat it up!
EOS Pomegranate and Raspberry lip balm :: I bought this lip balm because I was really curious about the shape of it, to be honest. It tastes amazing, made from natural ingredients and packed with vitamins. I was disappointed by it's lasting power, however. But I still love the whole novelty of the shape, so it's still a staple in my handbag!
Wow, I didn't expect this post to be so long! It's my own fault for not being able to cut my favourites down! Have you tried any new lip products lately? Let me know what your favourites are!
